Cancer Woman and Libra Man Compatibility

Famous Cancer-Libra Couples:  Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee

This is a bossy combo!  Believe it or not, these two will fight for control more than practically any other pair.  Their only salvation is to give the Cancer woman complete control of the household if there is to be any peace at all.  But unfortunately, Libra seems to bring out the worst in Cancer.

How to Attract a Cancer Woman as a Libra Man: You can begin by promising her a beautiful home some day.  Really, this lady is so bossy and hell-bent on domesticity, or whatever she equates with financial security, that you have to speak the language very plainly to get through to her.  She is the type of woman likely to have an agenda.  She knows the year she wants to marry, the year she wants to have kids, the year she wants to quit work, the year she wants to take her first trip to europe, etc., etc.  It may appeal to you because you are somewhat like that yourself but perhaps you do not realize that her bossiness will know no end.  Giving her what she wants will only encourage her to ask for more.  Happily, she is not likely to step over into your territory if you give her control over the home.

How to Attract a Libra Man as a Cancer Woman:   Show an interest in his career and convince him you will be an asset to his climb to the top.  Demonstrate superior social skills.  Show him you will make a good hostess for his clients and associates and talk about running a home like running a business.  Engage in discussions of financial security unemotionally and without batting an eye.  Underneath your stereotypical layers of domesticity, you’re a calculating machine, so show it.  It’s the fast track to his information center.

Degree of Romance:  You, dear little Cancer, will insist on every single accoutrement of romance.  You will nag, whine, weep and manipulate until you get what you want on Mother’s Day, Valentine’s day, your birthday, major religious holidays, and will demand reciprocity after you put out for anything, such as entertaining his parents or granting a special favor in the boudoir.  You strike a hard bargain.

Degree of Passion: None.

Degree of Friendship: It’s more like business partners than friendship.

Degree of Marriage: This can be a successful first union if it focuses on the formulaic aspects of marriage such as building a career and furnishing a home. Because of Cancer’s proclivity to focus on the home, these may drift apart but not notice it for years.  She will be happy as long as he buys her stuff for the house, and he will be happy as long as she stays in it.  Maybe that’s more than most couples have.

Progression of Relationship:  Cancer will design a series of channel locks which Libra will have to navigate successfully to round the bases and touch home.  These steps are likely to include presents, weekend trips, dealing with the parents, a fur coat, whatever the traffic will allow … she‘ll keep raising the bar.  The sheer logic of it has some appeal for Libra.  She is speaking in an algebraic language that might be translated as follows:  if you do this for me, I will do that for you.  The Libra, being a Libra, will trot right along.  The danger is that this quid pro quo approach will degenerate into manipulation.  If it does, the Libra will turn very cold indeed.  Though she will hardly notice, the end will not then be far.

Sex:  Sex for this couple is like collecting green stamps (for those of you old enough to remember green stamps).  After she gets a few, she’ll want to trade them in for an upgrade.  Ms. Cancer is always keeping score and planning her next move.  If your mind is on your work, Libra, you might not have noticed that you‘re being taken.  Cancer can do a good imitation of motherliness and caring but there’s a price exacted.  Her special favors will require special arrangements.  Libra is not the victim, though.  He‘s a shrewd negotiator, and after all, he created this monster.

When It’s Over:   This relationship will end in one place and one place alone:  the deep freeze.  That’s after you’ve sliced and diced each other under the guise of equity and fairness.  This can be one of the most bitter endings conceivable.

Our Rating:   Buyer beware!

This is sooooooooooooooo far off, I can’t believe it. It sounds nothing like me (Cancer Woman) or my Libra man. The only thing true is that I take pride in my home. This is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy off! We are both very compassionate and affectionate people with much in common. I know we are different, libra being air and me being water, but we mesh. I never read a compatibility so negative. This makes it sound like there’s no hope at all.

  • nancy says:

Maybe you two can overcome the typical issues. Good luck!

  • Soybean says:

Hopefully so, maybe the water in his chart will help things. He’s got some Cancer and Pisces in his chart. I’ll keep you posted just to see, but so far so good! I know our Venus and Moon are compatible.

  • nancy says:

Good, do let me know. xxoo

  • Lynette says:

This description of Cancer woman and Libra man is totally wrong and rude. I’m a cancer woman and my man is a Libra and we’ve been together for a year and three months and still going strong. We have a lot in common, were both affectionate, compassionate and we socialize about everything, were practically best friends. Were the couple that the spotlights is on us all the time because (more than any other match-up of signs, this astrological pair brings a warmth and sense of stability to those around them.) <- that is very true when you read that in other astrologies about a Cancer and Libra relationship. So whoever wrote this needs to recheck his or her readings about a cancer and libra compatibility…

  • PG says:

wow, you are so accurate. I dated a Cancer woman who was 8 years old than me. I always comprised and tried to please afriad that she might leave. And she did leave me in the end because of a mistake. I didn’t committ to her at a time she wanted to and she lost her patience.

I’m dating another Cancer now and I’m so confused. I find that she is very materialistic at times and wonder if she will leave me if she found a better deal elsewhere. Tonight she was in one of those moods and I couldnt understand why she was down. She was upset and taking it out on me. Being a libra, I take it but it does hurt.

I guess Libra and Cancer are not meant to be together. At times like this, I miss my ex because I found her much more mature. Anything I can say to bring her back? advice?

  • nancy says:

It’s a tough combination PG. I think you should try a Capricorn woman.

  • Soybean says:

Lynette I totally agree with you. I’m a Cancer woman and I’ve only been with my Libra man for a short time, but I experience the same exact thing. The thing that’s so funny is that where ever we go, we turn heads. It’s as if we glow and others see it. It’s like the spotlight is on us always. We are both caring, sensitive, loving and affectionate people as well. My Libra man just moved back to town and isn’t completely stable like he was before he left (his dad died and he had to relocate to deal with it better). That doesn’t bother me that he can’t do all that he’d like to, his efforts mean so much and i’m patient and always have been. I’m the opposite of what Nancy says. Me and all of my Cancer girlfriends (and there are a few of them) spoil our men. I don’t know who this Cancer Woman is that she’s speaking of because I’m not familiar with her at all. This man treats me like a QUEEN and I look at him like a KING and he isn’t even fully stable yet. He works yes, but he’s rebuilding. I’m looking forward to a lifetime with this man. He only makes me HAPPY!!!! Nancy you may want to research this a little more or visit the site below, this sounds a little bit closer.

You are way off! Go back to your day job!

  • nancy says:

    @Jason

I’ve been a full time professional astrologer for almost thirty years. This is my day-and-night job and I love :-) !! We will have to agree to disagree, respectfully. If you have specifics, especially about Cancer women, I’d be interested in hearing about your experience.

  • Lynette says:

Hi its me again..four months later… Yes Soybean I have read that link and I also stated my comment as well on that link… I’m still with my Libra man and it’s been one year and six months and still going strong.

Libra and Cancer can workout if they just communicate and have trust in each other. Libra loves their space and have social freedom and if Cancer let’s their Libra have that then it can workout beautifully. Because when they come home to each other they both (Libra & Cancer) will always have something to tell each other and appreciates each other’s qualities and love.

I love my Libra man! I’m one happy Cancer :)

  • Delight23 says:

what a joke. cookie-cutter readings never works. I am a Cancer woman with Leo and Gemini in my chart. My sweetie is a Virgo/Libra cusp man.

We BOTH enjoy our space. I do not like jealous clingy men and have experienced this with leos and scorpios. Both maintain physical and intellectual pursuits outside of the relationship…with very HOT and cerebral sex.

Cancer women are supposed to be emotional, weepy women whose only goal(s) in life is to get married and pop-out babies. Libra men are supposed to be liars and whores with wandering eyes. Virgos are supposed to be overly judgmental prudes… pppsssshhh, please!

  • nancy says:

Delight 23 I can serve you up the full enchilada for $250 if you want a comprehensive and detailed analysis. I’m ready when you are. Let’s do it!

  • Cancer woman says:

lol..this made me laugh… ‘he’s a shrewd negotiator, and afterall, he created this monster’
Don’t understand why people are getting so emotional, it’s hilarious!!
i haven’t dated any libra men, i’ve just had them as friends and they’ve been very sweet. As a cancer woman i will agree that were possesive and require alot of attention and love, not because we want a needy man, just someone who can show that they really care about our well being.
Nancy i enjoyed this; was very entertaining than the others i read, i could picture it.

  • nancy says:

AAhh, a voice in the wilderness LOL thanks!!

  • Angel Evans says:

Well, If I may put my two cents in. I always read these and never ever say anything but
The conversations I read make me feel like I must say something.
Ever Libra I have meant are real sweet and We do mesh well
together Like Hes so sweet and I love them. I am a cancer by the way. I Don’t think Libras and cancers cant have relationships because I’m with one at the moment and OHH BOY
Hes like my little everything.. I know we can make it work and I hope we doo

  • ame says:

what about a cancer with an aries moon and leo rising and libra with sag rising and a gemini moon..any hope there? or still should be avoided?

  • Priya says:

You’re not the first person to say this… and boy you make it feel like a Libra man & Cancer woman can’t have a relationship but I beg to differ. I’m 29 and my husband is 34 and we have been married for 5 years but we are still deeply in love with each other. I can’t imagine my life without him. The secret is to love and trust each other. It has worked for me and I believe it can also work for others.

  • that one guy says:

not everyone and everything is written on paper or can be predicted….. if so… it would be a very boring world.

  • that one guy says:

but actually my negative side could see this happening hahaha ….. im not gonna lie…. its kinda sad…. hey its fun for the moment….. if something goes wrong…. well that sucks…on to the next one i guess….. if not then, thats great….

  • vic says:

well, im a cance women and my man is a libra and weve ben datin for 5.5 years…i dont really agree with your “chart/assessment” i think its a very general analysis and dont really relate at all. the only thing i do relate to is Lynettes note “Libra and Cancer can workout if they just communicate and have trust in each other. Libra loves their space and have social freedom and if Cancer let’s their Libra have that then it can workout beautifully.” the rest i really disagrew with – mind you my libra man wants all the space he can get as long as my space involves home and only home while he is the social butterfly in both relationships. Theyre beautiful librans, they really aree but just like the scales that represent them they can be just as “ugly”.

  • Jake says:

Wow! The person who wrote this sounds quite mean and bossy herself. What got into her? Maybe a former lover ran away with a Cancer woman and she is seeking revenge via mindless astrological readings?

I’m a Libra man that just celebrated my 10th anniversary with my Cancer wife. I’ve never met a more kind and gentle lady and we harmonize beautifully. And on top of being the sexiest woman I’ve ever met (professional swimmer body), she’s an incredible chef ;)

All in all, I find this assessment rather inaccurate. This one, on the other hand, seems a whole lot more fair and reasonably worded: http://www.ask-oracle.com/sign-compatibility/cancer-woman-libra-man/

  • I. says:

Totally True. My ex was a Libra and I’m a Cancer.
Ended horribly, I don’t mind being called a monster because being with him made me so naggy and hateful. I don’t like how I was being either. My new bf makes me a totally different individual.
The Libra male started out excellent, but ended horribly.

  • Arlz says:

I have been with a Libran man for more than three years now and we really are very happy. More than anything, I think we don’t let our “other” sides take over. Yes, I can be manipulative and demanding, but I choose not to be.
I overcome that negative side of myself because I want the best for my man and I know that he wants that for me! I see that other side of him too, with clients, in business, etc.
It’s all relative but I think we’ve managed to show each other who we really are…now we use it in our businesses..together! Lol :-)
    Very interesting read, thank you.

  • NWgal says:

This is so far off… you are way off base on this one. I was married to a Libra for 27 yrs. Only through one (ME) going to counsiling did it last that long. He was so into himself, his buddys and his booze that he didnt care about anything or many one. The one who manipulated was him…. he kept count even up through the divorce of what he had done and no one else. Only truth on your statements was… our relationship of 27 yrs ended in disaster due to the fact his tmanipulation of played mind games of threats of suicide and running away during the divorce. He lost all the respect I did have for him.. Only good thing I can say was he never went without a job.. but when it came to his children, marriage and family his booze and buddys came first. Maybe that was because I was his second wife… who knows and who cares.. Best thing I did was divorce him.

  • Izzy says:

This is the worst portrayal of a cancer woman i have EVER seen, and BY FAR the most inaccurate compatibility assessment. As a cancer woman I am highly offended….GRANTED I did get a hysterical LAUGH out of it….I think this was intended as a joke…if not…I’m still laughing my A** off!! haha

  • nikki says:

this is accurate. I am married to a libra and we do fine for a while all lovey dovey and what not then when we do argue it last a long time and is dramatic we both want contol. He does choose getting high and hanging with the buddy’s anyday over me. we go good for a while but then we will crash.

  • Jude says:

You just perfectly summed up my parents’ marriage. LOL.

  • sisi says:

I am a cancer women and have been dating a libra man. I have to say that I agree with what was said about this relationship. In my opinion, we are dry together. I’ve tried to make myself like him..after all he is attractive and very much into me..but I just don’t feel passion a true connection. The relationship feels like way too much for it to be in the beginning. The chemistry is very off. We just don’t get each other…..now i just have to find a nice way to tell him that we are meant just to be friends.

  • shortmama says:

I think your statement is off. I am a cancer woman. I have been with my Libra boyfriend for almost two years. Cancer woman like space just as llbra mens. Both are loving, and and caring people, and have a good chanceof making it work. The one factor that cancer women needs to do is always show, and tell her libra man she loves him. Then there are some others factors within the person that could affect the relationship such as history of each, and what type of family they come from. LIBRA don’t love easily neither do Cancer women. Both like to think before making decisons. Then it also what grounds the relatioship os build on such as how do they see each other. “Best of Luck” Please donot go by this, it seems as someone is negative of trys to understand bother signs, which resulted unsucessfully.

One more factor both are private in thier relationship, and only focus on positive. Just as Libras can have a variety side so can Cancer, and other cadinal signs. Therefore, cancer woman, and libras can easily forgive each other, and continue thier relaitionship. However, both can be faithful to each other when love is in the air or marriage.

  • Natasha says:

wow.. I have to say this sounds a bit like the relationship i had with my ex boyfriend of 3 years and a half. im cancer (27th of june) he is libra(24th of september).
he brought the worst in me. i was manipulative and so bossy. he wasnt a saint thats for sure…

but i cant believe i let myself be the way i was. dont think its a good match thought we loved each other deeply and the sex was amazing.

  • Cei Cei says:

WOW! I would definately say this sounds all too familiar. I am a cancer woman and had a relationship with a libra man and it screamed disaster. Though we could keep it together in public it wasnt the same in private. We hated to do anything for the other’s family(probably becuase we just didnt like the each other’s family) and it was always about what we could gain. It ended in cheating and lies. Our relationship was so bad we can only be friends in increments of 1 hour every week or so.

  • Rose says:

*Psst* Nancy, Tommy Lee is a Virgo.

  • skitz0 says:

my best friend is with a libra and has been for 5 years….she got pregnant only months after they met and now being the cancer she is, she is holding on for her family and so is he. they both love each other very dearly but cannot get along if the fate of the world depended on it. all either of them want is to make it work, any advice for my friend so i can pass it on?

  • Nat Queen Cole says:

I am currently getting to know a Libra (I`m a Cancer woman) and I`m beginning to get very posessive and jealous because it seems he has a very large crowd of female friends. I really see that he is a space lover because he can go hours without speaking to me but I feel as though I need constant attention and reasurrance. He is very loving but a bit too sexual too soon. I`m sexual too but I like to hold off until I know for sure that things will work out.

Now reading all of this I`m afraid for my life!!! LOL. Should I just forget about him and move on? That`s what I feel like doing now!

  • flora says:

    do what u feel…..:)

  • Chloe says:

All I can say is that this is soooooooooooooo true! I’m in a situation like this right now! We’ve been together for years but the passion is gone. He brings out the worst in me and I’m ready to leave him. Ready to expand my horizons and see what else is out there. This article hit the nail on the head.

  • ruth says:

this is VERY familiar to me . I’m currently engaged to a Libra. truthfully , I have never felt this over the top, ga-ga , in Love feelings for him. I did love how he love & loves me still, the attention & affection – although i gotta admit sometimes it’s a bit too much . In reading this i do realize a lot of the friction he has towards me , tends to stem from me not being this “housewife persona” i know he’d like me to be. he’s a neat freak. & i’m no slob , but i’m not one to keep our place in Museum form either. And it has gotton to this give & then take form – at least on my part – i just started feeling the givingto me started whaning & i was like – no-way buddy, I ain’t being taken for granted, too many times that’s happened to me. He is also a bit to frank for my taste, as i am a very sensitive Cancer woman & how he says things to me means a lot &/or everything And he doesn’t get that. I do gotta say the winner is that i give him space . The romance has always been slim . So I cherish when he is . Sex is passionate to max. I’m like his closest friend, but sometimes i wish i wasn’t – i feel this well is full with his whining , I sometimes wish i can here his resolve than his depression- a total kill-joy. & i’ve never argued so maniacal with any other guy. I’m not running for hills as we do work thing out – something i’ve never had with any other guy, he insists on communicating , even though we’re (maybe i ) are not great at it – I get soo emotional & it’s soo hard to be concisly verbal. Wish me luck!

  • libra lady spica says:

Tommy Lee is definitely a Libra.

This is a very good combination and the Cancer woman is attracted to Libra man especially if she has libra planets and aries for opposite attracts.

  • libra lady spica says:

At Pria. So it does work in marraige. I believe this can work depending on planets.

  • carrie says:

First off- pretty cruel summary of a cancer woman but I get it. I am not manipulative but I totally used to be. It came natural but I stopped when I figured out that it was wrong. I have been with a libra man for 10yrs. I feel that he is waaayyy more clingy than me (he is Cap rising and moon & I am Aries rising, Scorpio moon) and it is not cool. Our sex life has become so dull. We don’t even communicate. There is no controlling going on here because we don’t even talk. I am afraid to tell him how I feel because I think it might break us up. This quote rings true to me- ” these may drift apart but not notice it for years.”

  • carrie says:

I should add that he did fall in love with me right away and proposed after 1 year.

  • vinny says:

libra men are such a liars..he made me so insecure..always play double games..cheaters

  • sweet&young says:

I’ve never been with a Libra man, but one of my best friends is a Cancer, and I DEFINITELY think the description was spot-on! She has gotten out-of-control bossy and manipulative with him and I feel so bad for them both…

  • Rose says:

    libra lady spica :

Tommy Lee is definitely a Libra.

Hello there Libra Lady Spica. Just that Wikipedia happen to display Tommy Lee was born September 15, 1946. Virgo, isn’t it?

  • M says:

This is disgustingly offensive towards most cancer women. I identify myself with maybe 1% of that, so it makes me rather reluctant to think this is accurate as far as the relationship goes

  • Cancersun-Aquamoon says:

Let me guess, Nancy (the author) is either a extremely competitive Libra, or a overly simplistic and self-centered Aries. Why is it that both of you (signs) are so terrible at appreciating the differences and being tolerant to your squares? Cancers need to stop being so submissive to all your attacks.
Not only is your accessment very unfair and unbalanced (looking at only the negatives of cancer, but yet idealizing the other signs, I glossed over your Cancer-Aries write-up as well: Aries men are perfect, sure), but it’s probably not good business practice. Unless the only sign you blatantly insult is Cancer and you don’t want them as clients, which may be the case. Unfortunately, Cancer’s are so forgiving and likely to see the good in others (not to mention, with an already low base self-worth), the ones with a lack of air or fire in their charts may actually take a polyanna approach to your rude insults and forgive you.

  • Cancersun-Aquamoon says:

And by the way, my partner of 8 years is an Aries, and I love him very much because he has so many wonderful qualities and I tolerate our many differences and so does he.

  • Suzie_Cancer says:

I am a Cancer Woman and, unlike the many cancerians that gave their opinion here, I must emphasize Libra people have always caused me trouble.

Libra analyzes facts in a superficial way. It cares about appearance. It is frequently unable to understand the true causes of a problem or situation. It is worried with social status and “making the right friends”.

It also underestimates people who “don’t shine” in society. That is the conclusion of an incredibly immature, unexprienced and superficial person. Rich and powerful people are not necessarily more talented, gifted or better in any way than ordinary people. Most of the time their status comes from pure political and financial advantages.

Libra also tends to be disrespectful and hurtful when it suits them. They look down on people who have a kind heart or bad appearance, admiring individuals or supporting situations that are unnethical, yet succesful.

I have ofeten been disappointed with these individuals. at first, they seem sensible and righteous, but as you get to know them, you can see they are very immature, superficial, callous and mischievous.

Anyway, that is my opinion, based on many experiences with this zodiac sign.

  • bluepitty says:

This article just ignores all of the positive and focuses on the negative. It’s all because of the authors personal mood/feelings at the time of writing. Shake my head to you Ms. Nancy looks like it’s time to find a new “passion.”
